EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) Step-by-Step Guide:

1. Identify the Issue:
– Choose a specific emotional or physical concern you’d like to release or transform.

2. Rate the Intensity:
– On a scale from 0 to 10, assess the current intensity of the issue (10 being the most intense).

3. Create a Setup Statement:
– Craft a statement that acknowledges the issue while embracing self-acceptance, such as:
“Even though I feel anxious, I deeply and completely accept myself.”

4. Tap on Meridian Points:
– Using two fingers, gently tap each of the following points 5-7 times while repeating your setup statement or describing the emotion:

  • 1. Karate Chop Point:
    – Location: Side of the hand (either hand), between the base of the pinky finger and the wrist.
    – Purpose: Helps balance emotional resistance and start the session with affirmations.
  • 2. Eyebrow Point (EB):
    – Location: At the beginning of the eyebrow, near the bridge of the nose.
    – Purpose: Releases negative emotions such as fear and anxiety.
  • 3. Side of the Eye (SE):
    – Location: On the bone at the outer corner of the eye.
    – Purpose: Helps with anger, frustration, and overwhelm.
  • 4. Under the Eye (UE):
    – Location: On the bone directly beneath the eye.
    – Purpose: Reduces fear and worry while bringing a sense of safety.
  • 5. Under the Nose (UN):
    – Location: Between the bottom of the nose and the upper lip.
    – Purpose: Clears feelings of guilt and shame.
  • 6. Chin Point (CP): 
    – Location: In the crease just below the bottom lip.
    – Purpose: Releases self-doubt and confusion, restoring confidence.
  • 7. Collarbone Point (CB):
    – Location: Below the collarbone, about an inch from the center of the chest.
    – Purpose: Balances emotions and helps restore overall harmony.
  • 8. Under the Arm (UA):
    – Location: About 4 inches below the armpit on the side of the body.
    – Purpose: Reduces anxiety and clears guilt or sadness.
  • 9. Top of the Head (TH):
    – Location: Directly on the crown of the head.
    – Purpose: Opens and balances the entire energy system.
  • These meridian points are gently tapped in sequence while repeating phrases related to the issue being addressed. This process helps clear emotional blockages and restore a natural, balanced energy flow.

5. Acknowledge and Repeat:
– Continue tapping through the points while acknowledging the emotion or concern.

6. Reassess the Intensity:
– After a few rounds of tapping, rate the intensity of the issue again. Notice any shifts or changes.

7. Repeat if Needed:
– If the intensity is still high, continue tapping while refining your statements to address underlying emotions.

Bonus Technique – The Argument Technique: 
If the energy isn’t shifting, try tapping while alternating between opposing statements on each point:
– “Yes, I feel this way.” / “No, I don’t feel this way.”
This back-and-forth dialogue can help break through mental resistance and move stuck energy.

Key Tips:
– Focus on being honest with your emotions during the process.
– Adapt the setup statement to match your specific feelings or thoughts.
– Practice regularly to experience deeper healing and transformation.

Final Goal:
We aim to bring the intensity level down to a 2 or 1, creating a sense of peace, relief, and harmony.

Recognizing Energy Shifts During EFT

As you move through EFT tapping, your body often gives signals that energy is shifting and releasing. Stay tuned into these natural responses:

Physical Indicators:
– Yawning or deep sighs
– Tingling sensations or warmth
– Changes in body posture or relaxation

Emotional Releases:
– Tears or crying
– Spontaneous laughter
– Sudden feelings of calm or peace

Signs of Resistance:
– Feeling mentally foggy or distracted
– Frustration or irritability
– Thoughts like “This isn’t working”
