Calming the mind
Do you struggle with an overactive mind that never stops? Not even at 3am? Overactive thinking causes a lot of restless nights, and it feels awful! An overactive mind can lead to negative thinking, restlessness and even insomnia.
And the simple solution to this restlessness, these negative thought patterns is to learn how to quiet your mind. The problem is, most people have no idea how or that it’s even possible to just calm their thoughts.
So how do you calm the mind enough to rewire your brain to more positive thoughts and more awareness? Well, firstly, it takes practice! Thoughts, words, reminders, and worries can become a distraction, and they will pop up when you are trying to meditate or do some inner self-work. It’s guaranteed!
Here are a couple of action steps that will help:
- Make a simple affirmation to focus on instead of allowing your mind to wander aimlessly. Choosing a mantra, a word to focus on will help you find mental peace and clarity. You can use sayings like, I choose peace, I choose to be quiet, I am peaceful or make it even more simple and just choose a single power word like peace, love, or calm.
- Start journaling. Write down your thoughts, feelings or emotions that are going on within your mind and your body. By writing things down you will be able to focus better and have a clearer intent. This method even helps with insomnia! Being aware of your thoughts will help you release thoughts and the words that might be interfering with you achieving a peaceful mind. Once we put our thoughts on paper it frees up space in our mind.
Calming the mind takes practice, but you will get there if that is your intent. I have helped hundreds of clients get there. If stopping the constant mind chatter and finally calming your mind and creating inner peace is your goal, let’s chat and see how I can help you get there.
